Kawasaki W175 Street LaunchedThe new prices for Kawasaki W175 Street has been reduced by Rs. 12,000 at Rs. 1.35 lakh (ex-sh), which is introductory for a limited periodThe surge in classic bikes has hit an all-time high, in Indian automotive sector. However, this soaring demand for classic bikes is seen in the 350cc segment where Honda, Yezdi and Jawa are Royal Enfield. But lower down, Kawasaki intends to make a mark in classic bike space by launching Street version of W175 with revised pricing and added features.Kawasaki W175 Street Launched For Rs. 1.35 LakhPrices for Kawasaki W175 Street start from Rs. 1.35 lakh (ex-sh). This is Rs. 12,000 more affordable than standard W175 that was on sale till now. The Japanese brand has mentioned that the Rs. 1.35 lakh (ex-sh) price is introductory and will be subject to increment. Kawasaki didn’t mention duration of introductory offer and the standard rates after that. There are two new colours – Candy Emerald Green and Metallic Moondust Grey. Kawasaki is offering alloy wheels on W175 Street and since these are alloys, tubeless tyres make their way into W175 as well for the first time, adding a ton of convenience. Other than these, there are no feature additions or any changes to standard kit.Tyre size is the same too – 80/100-17 front and 100-90-17 rear. On closer inspection with spec sheets, there seems to be slight variations with seat height, ground clearance and wheelbase when compared to current model.[embedded content]The new colours add a dramatic effect with the black alloy wheels. With Metallic Moondust Grey, Kawasaki is adding pin stripes to ally wheels, something that Candy Emerald Green lacks. But Candy Emerald Green is likely to be the highest-selling colour as Green is Kawasaki’s signature shade and it is the only colour that has ‘KAWASAKI’ branding on fuel tank.Specs and powertrainsKawasaki brand name is the decisive factor in W175 Street’s buying decision. Other than Candy Emerald Gree, other shades from standard W175 and W175 Street have ‘W’ branding on fuel tank. Other design highlights include extensive blackened elements and retro elements that radiate timeless charm.Kawasaki W175 Street is still powered by the same 177cc single-cylinder air cooled engine that produces 13 bhp of peak power and 13.3 Nm of peak torque. The 5-speed gearbox is standard and resr of the componentry consisting RSU telescopic front forks, twin shock-absorber rear suspension, front disc brake and rear drum, along with conventional features list.Kawasaki W175 Street Alloy WheelsSpeaking of features list, there is a small LCD screen in its circular instrument cluster for trip meters and the likes. Analog speedo, halogen lighting all around, circular headlights and ORVMs speak of its retro charm. The primary highlights for Kawasaki W175 Street is its weight. Or the lack thereof. Because the figure is just 135 kg. If I was looking for a motorcycle to gift my father or uncles, this would be it. More

Updated 2024 Kawasaki W175 Could Launch At India Bike Week

2024 Kawasaki W175Kawasaki W175 will target a niche customer base instead of directly rivalling larger 300-400cc retro motorcyclesIf we consider the retro motorcycle segment, quite a few options start from 300cc. Some popular names include Royal Enfield Classic 350 and Meteor 350, recently launched Honda CB350, Jawa, Yezdi and Benelli Imperiale 400. Customers looking for a smaller capacity classic motorcycle would have to look at updated 2024 Kawasaki W175 to be launched at India Bike Week 2023.2024 Kawasaki W175 – Expected changesAs part of the 2024 update, Kawasaki W175 gets a few cosmetic updates. These updates have been teased by Kawasaki on a mysterious veiled motorcycle. New reports suggest that these updates revolve around 2024 Kawasaki W175 that will launch in India on 10th anniversary of India Bike Week held at Vagator, Goa on 8th December, 2023.As part of the update, we can see an alloy wheel with sporty pinstripes that replace the old wire-spoke unit of current model. We can expect tubeless tyres with alloy wheels, which is an added benefit over tube-type tyres. Kawasaki might offer new colours as well. W175 is locally manufactured in India and doesn’t enjoy a lot of popularity. Revised pricing should help 2024 Kawasaki W175’s cause. Currently, it costs between Rs. 1.47 lakh and Rs. 1.49 lakh (ex-sh).Available in Asian markets such as Indonesia and Thailand, Kawasaki W175 has a simple, yet elegant design. Round headlamp with chrome wrap, round ORVMs, fork gaiters, teardrop-shaped fuel tank and turn indicators, single-piece seat and broad rear fenders. Handlebars are ergonomically placed and footpegs are just below the front seat. These features should ensure comfortable rides for most users.Current Kawasaki W175Design and specsPowering W175 is a 177 cc, air-cooled motor capable of generating 13 ps of max power at 7500 rpm and 13.2 Nm of peak torque at 6000 rpm. It is mated to a 5-speed transmission. Power and torque output could be slightly different for BS6 version of this engine.Suspension system comprises 30mm telescopic front forks and swingarm dual shock absorbers with adjustable spring preload at the rear. Braking duties are performed by 220mm disc at the front and 110 mm drum brake at rear. Another thing that can work to W175’s advantage is its handling. The bike weighs 135 kg, which is much lighter than larger capacity retro-themed motorcycles. W175 can be expected to perform with greater agility in city traffic conditions. It could make daily commuting a lot more fun and comfortable. Folks looking to try something new or a smaller-capacity retro motorcycle could go for Kawasaki W175.However, considering the limited number of Kawasaki dealerships in the country, it will be challenging to unlock W175’s full potential. This bike can generate sales in smaller towns and cities. But currently Kawasaki dealerships are largely available only in prominent cities. It remains to be seen if Kawasaki has some special plans to make W175 available at more locations across the country.Source More

Kawasaki ZX-4R Launched For Rs. 8.49 Lakh – Inline-4 Symphony

Kawasaki ZX-4R LaunchedThe 399cc In-line 4-cylinder engine on Kawasaki ZX-4R develops a healthy 74.4 bhp of power and 39 Nm of torqueAfter a bunch of teasers, Kawasaki has launched its newest super-sport machine in India. The much-awaited Ninja ZX-4R is here and is now the most affordable 4-cylinder motorcycle in India. Kawasaki ZX-4R costs Rs. 8.49 lakh (ex-sh) and undercuts the current most affordable faired 4-cylinder bike, Honda CBR650R, by Rs. 86,000.Kawasaki ZX-4R Launched – The only sub 500cc 4-cylinder bike in IndiaNew Ninja ZX-4R bears family genes and has semblance with other ZX motorcycles. The fairing is aggressive, yet has an understated hint of beauty to it. The proposition of a sub 500cc 4-cylinder motorcycle is rather exciting and Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R is the only bike of its kind in the Asian subcontinent.Ninja ZX-4R offers exhilarating and high-revving engine characteristics of a 4-cylinder motorcycle and ditches the added weight that is associated with middle-weights and lower-tier liter-class motorcycles. For reference, Honda CBR650R weighs 211 kg as it is a bigger capacity motorcycle. This takes power-to-weight ratio to the higher side.Speaking of power, Kawasaki ZX-4R packs a 399cc 4-cylinder engine with 74.4 bhp of power at 14,500 RPM and 39 Nm of torque at 13,000 RPM. This is a lot of engine speed for this displacement category, hence falling in screamer category. General thumb rule is that the smaller the pistons are, higher they revv.Kawasaki ZX-4R specsThere is a 6-speed gearbox along with a slip and assist clutch. Kawasaki Traction Control (KTRC) gets three modes of selectable traction. Kawasaki calls Ninja ZX-4R as “India’s first 399cc In-line 4 beast”. The handsome fairing allows rider to tuck behind it with relative ease, offering optimum wind protection.India’s first 399cc In-line 4 BeastRider’s triangle is fairly committed with low-set clip-on handlebars and rear-set footpegs. The split seat option offers decent wiggle room for rider to move about. Componentry includes USD telescopic front forks, rear mono-shock suspension, dual disc brake setup at the front and a single disc brake at the rear, dual-channel ABS and more. All of these components are mounted on a trellis frame that should allow spirited riding and sharp corner carving. Features list is pretty high as well. Kawasaki is offering a TFT instrument cluster that supports Bluetooth connectivity that enables music control, notification alert and turn-by-turn navigation. There is a Circuit Mode too, for track aficionados.Kawasaki ZX-4R goes up against Honda CBR650R, priced at Rs. 9.35 lakh (ex-sh). Similarly priced street naked Kawasaki Z900 could be a potential rival too. But Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R only weighs 188 kg, which is among its primary strengths. More

    Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R Teased – 80bhp At 14,500 RPM!

Kawasaki teaser compared with ZX-4R and ZX-6RCurrently, Kawasaki Z900 is India’s most affordable 4-cyl naked bike at Rs. 9.2 lakh and Honda CBR650R in fully-faired space at Rs. 9.35 lakh (prices ex-sh)India adores 4-cylinder motorcycles. Since Benelli pulled the plugs on TNT 600i, the most affordable 4-cylinder motorcycle in India has been Kawasaki Z900. This will change soon as Kawasaki India has teased a new 4-cylinder machine, that is highly likely to be Ninja ZX-4R, with launch slated on 11th September.Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R Teased – Budget Dhoom bike?Kawasaki is bringing a new 4-cylinder Ninja motorcycle to our shores on 11th September 2023. The company’s teaser featured a 4-cylinder engine layout and #Ninjalife in it along with fascia of a faired bike. Considering Kawasaki already sells Ninja ZX-10R in India, this could either be ZX-6R, ZX-4R or ZX-25R.Given the price-to-performance ratio of ZX-4R, we would lean on it more than the other two. That said, Kawasaki had offered ZX-6R in India in the past and it would only make sense to bring it back. However, looking at the bike’s outline in Kawasaki’s new teaser, we would wager that this is ZX-4R and not ZX-6R. Considering Kawasaki mentioned ‘motorcycle’ and not ‘motorcycles’. We’re likely to only get ZX-4R.Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4RZX-4R packs a 399 cc in-line 4-cylinder engine kicking out 80 bhp of power at 14,500 RPM and 39 Nm of torque at 13,000 RPM. The 6-speed gearbox will probably get a bi-directional quick-shifter too. At least as an option. 14,500 RPM is definitely in screamer category. The bigger brother ZX-6R gets a 636 cc in-line 4-cylinder engine with 129 bhp of power on tap at 13,000 RPM and 69 Nm of torque at 10,800 RPM. A 6-speed gearbox with a quick-shifter may be part of the package.Feature-packed modern Kawasaki machinesRegardless of which bike Kawasaki is launching in India, CBU route is highly likely. Launch will happen on 11th September 2023. So, pricing will be high when compared to how much they’ll cost in global markets. As per componentry, SFF-BP USD telescopic front forks, rear mono-shock suspension, sporty racing clip-on handlebars, rear set footpegs, neatly designed fairing are common between both ZX-6R and ZX-4R.ZX-6R gets an adjustable suspension feature, that ZX-4R lacks. Braking hardware comprises of dual-disc setup at front and a single-disc setup at the rear with both bikes. 220 mm rear disc is common between the two, while ZX-4R sports 290 mm twin discs at the front and ZX-6R comes with 310 mm dual discs.Revving up the excitement…!!!We are going to unleash our new Inline four masterpiece in India on 11th September,2023.Stay tuned for the unveiling of our newest motorcycle, where style meets power!!#Kawasaki #IndiaKawasakiMotors #KawasakiIndia #NinjaLife #LetTheGoodTimesRoll pic.twitter.com/jMA4gt3E4b— IndiaKawasaki (@india_kawasaki) September 6, 2023Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R gets a 160-section rear tyre, while ZX-6R packs a fatter 180-section rear tyre. LED headlights, LED tail lights, modern switchgear, fully digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation are standard with both Ninja motorcycles. Rs. 7 lakh to Rs. 8 lakh for ZX-4R seems to be logical (ex-sh). More

Kawasaki Eliminator SE ABSThe same 451cc parallel twin engine on Kawasaki Eliminator US-spec model does duties on Ninja 400 as wellKawasaki has revived its Eliminator brand from the dead after a decade. This bodes well to the brand as it evokes a certain nostalgia within the target demographic. Eliminator series is a low-sling textbook cruiser motorcycle that get engines from their respective Ninja and Z counterparts. The first Eliminator model debuted for JDM with a 399cc parallel twin engine from a Ninja 300. Now Kawasaki has showcased Eliminator for USA, which features a larger 451cc parallel twin engine from Ninja 400. In USA, Kawasaki Eliminator will rival the likes of Honda Rebel 500 and a few cruisers from Royal Enfield like Meteor 350.Kawasaki Eliminator Debuts In USAFor some reason, Kawasaki has resorted to offering a larger engine for US market. Compared to Ninja 400’s engine, Eliminator has a 6.8 mm longer stroke to ensure more torque, probably at a lower rev range. This is evident in torque figures as Eliminator has 42.97 Nm as opposed to 37 Nm of Ninja 400.In USA, Kawasaki Eliminator measures 2250 mm in length, 785 mm in width, 1099 mm in height, 1518 mm long wheelbase. It has a 30-degree rake angle too, which is relatively sharp for a low-slung cruiser. Ground clearance is 150 mm and seat height is 734 mm. 12.8L fuel tank is very small considering that it is a cruiser.Standard Kawasaki EliminatorKawasaki Eliminator comes in two variants. Standard Eliminator and Eliminator SE. On top of the standard model, Eliminator SE offers exclusive colours, two pattern seats, a headlight cowl, fork boots and a waterproof USB-C charging port for smartphones or other accessories. Standard model comes in Pearl Robotic White and Pearl Storm Grey shades, while SE gets a sole Candy Steel Furnace Orange / Ebony dual-tone colourway. The motorcycle gets a steel tubular frame, 41 mm RSU telescopic front forks, twin shock absorbers for rear suspension, 18” front wheel wrapped with 130/70-18 tyre and a rear 16” wheel wrapped with 150/60-18 tyre. Pulled back handlebar, neutral footpeg position and a low 176 kg kerb weight ensure a fatigue-free cruising. Will it Eliminate its rivals?Kawasaki Eliminator comes equipped with a variation of Ninja 400 engine. This is a 451cc parallel twin motor, mated to a 6-speed gearbox. 4V head, slip and assist clutch are notable features. Kawasaki is offering single disc setups at both ends with an option for dual channel ABS. There is a round fully digital instrument cluster too, with Bluetooth connectivity.Standard Kawasaki Eliminator Engine from Ninja 400In USA standard Eliminator costs USD 6,649 (5.48 lakh) for non ABS model and USD 6,949 (Rs. 5.72 lakh) for ABS model. Eliminator SE gets ABS as standard and costs USD 7,249 (Rs. 5.97 lakh). Kawasaki India hasn’t revealed any information regarding launch of Eliminator cruiser in the Asian subcontinent. More

Automotive fraternity was on its heels, anticipating the revival of the Eliminator nameplate, which has turned out true.Eliminator series is a true textbook-cruiser and was first introduced in 1985, starting with Eliminator 900 and soon expanded its portfolio with EL125, EL175 (Bajaj Eliminator in India), EL250, VN250, ZL400, ZL600, ZL750, ZL900 and ZL1000. Kawasaki Eliminator 400 is the spiritual successor of ZL400 of the yesteryear.New Kawasaki Eliminator 400Eliminator 400 – Dimensions, Specs, Engine, Brakes, SuspensionMost of the Eliminator series got powertrains from their Ninja counterparts of similar displacements categories. That stays true here as well as Kawasaki Eliminator 400 gets the same powertrain as Ninja 400. It is a 398 cc parallel twin motor capable of developing 48 bhp of power and 37 Nm of torque, coupled to a 6-speed gearbox.New Kawasaki Eliminator 400 SpecsUnlike typical cruisers with torquey long-stroke engines, Eliminator 400 gets a big bore setup with redline pegged at 10,000 RPM. Drivetrain setup will be key here, to offer a similar character as a cruiser. The newly-developed trellis frame is suspended on 41mm USD front forks with 120 mm travel and twin shock absorbers at the rear with 90 mm travel.New Kawasaki Eliminator 400Kawasaki Eliminator 400 measures 2250 mm in length, 785 mm in width, 1100 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 1520 mm. Even with a low seat height of 735 mm, Kawasaki has managed to carve out a decent 150 mm ground clearance. Front gets a 310 mm single disc setup and rear gets 240 mm disc. Both are equipped with twin-pot brake calipers.New Kawasaki Eliminator 400With 12L of fuel in the tank, Kawasaki Eliminator 400 weighs in at 176 kg (SE weighs 178 kg), which is very spritely, when compared to cruisers with similar thrust. In Kawasaki’s cruiser lineup, Eliminator 400 sits below Vulcan S with a 650 cc engine derived from Ninja 650.Loaded With Modern Features, New TechOwing to Eliminators of yesteryears, 400 gets round LED headlights and a round fully-digital instrument cluster. Turn indicators and tail lights are LED too, but they could have been round as well. Exhaust routing from both cylinders are channeled within a common pipe ending in a single canister setup.New Kawasaki Eliminator 400 vs Vulcan S – Riding PositionThe more expensive SE variant gets fork gaiters, a waterproof USB-C charging socket, special seat with leather, Mitsuba Sankowa GPS and two cameras at the front and back enabling dashcam function as well. It is not yet confirmed whether Kawasaki is bringing this to India or not. If launched in India, it will take on the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650. More

Kawasaki Eliminator 400cc Launch Soon – Super Meteor 650 Rival

Kawasaki Eliminator 400 could get the same 399 cc engine parallel twin motor from Ninja 400, making 43 bhp and 37 NmKawasaki Eliminator 400cc Render by Young Machine
Does Kawasaki Eliminator 400 ring any bell to you? No? How about Bajaj Eliminator? This rings a distant bell, doesn’t it? That is because Kawasaki-Bajaj JV sold Eliminator 175 cruiser bikes in India for some time. It was a cruiser motorcycle manufactured in India and exported to global markets.
Kawasaki Eliminator 400cc – New Age Cruiser For Modern Gen
Bajaj Eliminator became the base for a motorcycle that is sold today under Avenger brand. Going by Kawasaki’s teasers, it is pretty evident that the Japanese brand is unveiling a slew of new products, and one of them is a low-slung cruiser. There are speculations set in place, suggesting Kawasaki Eliminator can be revived. Let’s take a look.
Kawasaki Eliminator 400cc Render by Young Machine
2023 Osaka Motor Show is being held in Japan on March 15th. This is a motor show based on customisations, but manufacturers also showcase their upcoming products, if any. First teaser from Kawasaki showed three motorcycles, a ZX-4RR (confirmed), an ADV and a cruiser motorcycle in the middle. Second teaser from Kawasaki shows veiled motorcycles at its pavilion at the Osaka Motor Show.
Looking at the round ORVMs, tail lights, and height difference between its handlebar and rear subframe, suggest that it might very well be a cruiser bike. It can be a variation of outgoing Vulcan S. But the veiled cruiser has round ORVMs, unlike a Vulcan S. We hope it is the revival of the Eliminator series to rival Royal Enfield’s dominance in the middle-weight cruiser category.
Kawasaki Eliminator 400 Revival Of An Icon
One of the popular series in Kawasaki’s lineup from the 90s was Eliminator. It was a cruiser-type motorcycle, first sold in 1985. The model started life with Eliminator 900, but soon spawned multiple engines ranging from mere 125 cc models to 1000 cc models. Model range includes EL125, EL175 (Bajaj Eliminator in India), EL250, VN250, ZL400, ZL600, ZL750, ZL900 and ZL1000.
Mostly, Kawasaki has used engines from its Ninja counterparts in the Eliminator series. Today, Kawasaki has a middle-weight cruiser in the form of Vulcan S priced at Rs. 6.4 lakh (ex-sh). With the launch of Super Meteor 650, Royal Enfield has pretty much stomped Vulcan S as the RE cruiser is priced between Rs. 3,48,900 and 3,78,900 (ex-sh).
Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 Rival
If Kawasaki Eliminator 400 is real, it might be a fitting weapon in the company’s arsenal against Super Meteor 650. We expect Kawasaki to use the same engine as the Ninja 400, which is a 399 cc parallel-twin motor packing 44.7 bhp of power and 37 Nm of torque. In contrast, RE’s 648 cc parallel-twin engine makes 47 bhp and 52 Nm.
Considering that Ninja 400 weighs just 168 kg, Kawasaki Eliminator 400 is likely to weigh around 200 kg. Which is far less than 240 kgs of Super Meteor 650. With less weight to lug around, Eliminator can beat Super Meteor 650 in outright performance. Tuning the engine to suit cruiser character is paramount as well. Ninja 400’s 37 Nm of torque has to be made accessible lower in the rev range to suit cruiser personality. This is not confirmed by Kawasaki, though. So, taking it with a pinch of salt would be advised. More
