Pricing is one of the biggest highlights of the Tiago EV facelift. Tata has reduced prices by up to Rs 1.15 lakh compared to the outgoing model, significantly improving its value proposition. Along with that, Tiago EV now gets a stronger equipment list and improved value, making it a more compelling option in its segment.

This facelift has significantly improved the Tiago EV’s value proposition, raising an important question – can it serve as the ideal EV for daily city commutes while also handling the occasional weekend getaway? Here’s what we found.
New Tata Tiago EV Review
Without BaaS plans, new Tiago EV has been priced between Rs 6.99 lakh (Ex-sh) and Rs 9.99 lakh (Ex-sh). These prices are lower by Rs 1 lakh with base and Rs 1.15 lakh top variant, making 2026 Tiago EV facelift a value proposition. BaaS pricing model makes Tiago EV even more accessible to buyers with a Rs 4.69 lakh + Rs 2.6 per km (starting) up-front cost.
This is the same price as base Tiago Petrol MT, but with Tiago EV BaaS, you’re getting an automatic (not the lethargic AMT) with better performance and the Rs 2.6 per km battery rental is nothing when compared to the savings from EV home charging over Petrol refueling costs.
Even though both ICE and EV modes start with Smart trim and end with Creative+ trim, the equipment offered between both models are different (more on it later). Pristine White, Daytona Grey, Sobo Surge, Pangong Pulse and Pure Grey are identical to Tiago ICE. Like Varanasi Vibrance with Tiago ICE, Tiago EV gets an exclusive colour too and it is called Dehradun Dew.
Design & Aesthetics
The new Dehradun Dew shade stands out among the available colours and suits the Tiago EV’s refreshed design quite well.. In terms of design, it looks almost the same as Tiago ICE facelift, but I appreciate the fact that Tiago EV facelift does not have those fang-like elements on front and rear bumpers.
Tiago EV has a dedicated front bumper with vertical fog lamp housings (fog lights are optional). This bumper and the body colour upper grille lend Tiago EV a unique aesthetic. If there is one thing we would have liked on Tiago EV from Tiago ICE is the Black plaque that connects both headlights. Many would feel the same way and get this body colour element blackened.
New LED headlights, white surrounds on Tata logo and clamshell bonnet are other notable elements from the front. At the sides, we can see Tata EV badging in Blue highlights, 14-inch Hyperstyle wheels, which are steelies with wheel covers, wrapped with 175/65-R14 tyres. There are Grey wheel arch claddings with new Tiago EV, inspired by new Punch EV, which do not look as polarising here because claddings are much less in comparison.
New chrome-studded door handles and Black styling element in C Pillar area are other notable elements. At the rear, we can see a connected tail light effect, but the LEDs are only present in the new LED tail light housings at either end. Tata logo here is also with White borders and the Tiago EV badging gets Blue highlights. Black roof is optional, which adds sophistication to the equation.
Much Improved Interiors
On the inside, Grey plastics from Punch EV continue on door trims and dashboard, which looks refreshing in our opinion, as opposed to Black seen in Tiago ICE. Tiago EV also gets a unique Green and Grey combination which we can see on door trims, dashboard, upholstery and even on the front centre armrest. In comparison, Tiago ICE gets a Grey and Black combination.
The lighter Green fabric inserts may require greater care over time, as most of the media drive vehicles already showed visible signs of staining. We could see soiling on the dashboard, door trims and on armrest as well. It is fabric and not leatherette, making it harder to clean. Tiago ICE’s Grey instead of Green, holds up much better in this regard.
When compared to its predecessor, new Tiago EV interiors are a notch above in terms of features, perceived quality, design and layout. The free standing LCD instrument cluster and the 10.2-inch infotainment screen lend this vehicle a futuristic vibe. Sierra-like power window controls are exclusive to Tiago EV only.
New Tiago EV is the first vehicle in Tata Motors’ history to not have a Tata logo on the steering wheel. Instead, it has Tata.ev branding. The steering wheel is new and the gloss plastics are replaced by matte black elements which will age better, in our opinion. The horn pad is now limited in terms of actuation area, which is a big step back in our books.
There are dedicated buttons on the updated centre console to cycle between three regen levels. Below it are automatic climate control panel and beneath it is the area where you see two placeholders for smartphones, but none of them have a wireless charging pad. There is a 65W Type-C charging port at the front, though.
Comfort and Convenience
For starters, the dashboard is not intrusive into the cabin allowing more leg room for front occupants and as a result, free up more space for rear occupants too. The front centre armrest, extra bolstering for back and under-thigh areas are much appreciated. What’s more appreciated is the fact that Tata has given Tiago EV rear AC vents, which even the new Punch EV does not get.
Like new Tiago ICE, Tiago EV misses out on load sensors for rear occupants and the 65W Type-C charging port. The latter is only seen with top-spec Tiago ICE. Automatic headlights and rain-sensing wipers, manually dimming IRVM, cooled glovebox, cruise control, steering mounted audio controls, height adjustable driver’s seat, storage under front armrest, two cup holders are notable features.
360-degree cameras, blindspot assistance, 20% recycled materials, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, good audio system and others are notable too. It has to be noted that Tiago EV pre-facelift version had auto-dimming IRVM (in XZ+ Lux LR) and it is not longer available with new Tiago EV. Boot space is the same and Tiago EV facelift does not get a spare wheel as this area is taken up by the battery pack.
Performance & Dynamics
In terms of performance and dynamics, new Tiago EV is the same as the model it replaces. Even though there were expectations of an update in powertrain like in Punch EV, Tata has kept the battery sizes the same as before – 19.2 kWh and 24 kWh. Battery warranty is now lifetime, which means till the vehicle registration ends at 15 years, for the first buyer.
Tata has upgraded Tiago EV’s charging speeds which has allowed for 30 kW DC fast charging now, which is 40% faster than before. Because we had very little time with Tiago EV in Bengaluru at the media drive, we did not attempt charging test, but Tata promises that 100 km worth of range can be added in just 18 minutes with 30 kW DC fast charging.
With LR’s 24 kWh battery pack, Tata Motors is promising up to 285 km range on single charge and the C75 real world range (75% of users) is up to 215 km. Performance with the LR variant we drove is the most exciting among all other fuel options of Tiago. We even managed to extract a 0-100 km/h sprint in around 10.5 seconds, which is quite exciting for a small hatchback like Tiago EV.
It drives the same as before too as the mechanicals have not been updated including the platform. It is rough road capable even though it is not advertised as an SUV and the bump absorption has always been great. Braking performance remains adequate for everyday use, although enthusiasts may have appreciated a more confidence-inspiring setup considering the EV’s stronger acceleration.
The battery pack options were not updated because Tata is pitching Tiago EV facelift to buyers with predictable commutes or even as a second or third city car. For higher range and performance requirements, Tata is selling the Punch EV, Nexon EV, Curvv EV and Harrier EV.
So, concentration was on offering better cabin experience, better aesthetics, vibrant personality and value-added features and creature comforts to assist everyday commutes. In this direction, new 2026 Tiago EV is definitely a winner, considering Tata has reduced prices by up to Rs 1.15 lakh (Ex-sh).
Should You Buy One?
At its revised pricing, the Tiago EV makes a strong case for itself as an urban commuter. It offers quick performance, low running costs, improved features and a much more modern cabin experience than before. While concerns around quality consistency and aftersales experience remain, the product itself is significantly better than its predecessor and deserves consideration from anyone looking for an affordable EV.
