The Indian scooter market closed December 2025 on a strong note, with the top 10 scooters collectively recording 5.33 lakh unit sales, marking a 44.97% year-on-year growth over December 2024. Demand remained broad-based across ICE and electric scooters, underlining the segment’s continued importance in the two-wheeler market.

Activa continued its dominance with 1,81,604 units, registering a healthy 50% YoY growth. Jupiter held on to the second spot with 1,20,477 units, growing 35.9% YoY. Access 125 recorded 69,622 units, up 33.4% YoY, maintaining its position as the most popular premium 125cc ICE scooter in India.

Electric scooters posted impressive growth in December 2025. TVS iQube sold 35,177 units, growing 75.9% YoY, while Bajaj Chetak saw a marginal 3.2% YoY decline to 20,340 units, indicating stabilisation after strong earlier growth. Newer EVs also made a strong impact. Ather Rizta clocked 14,282 units, posting 91.6% YoY growth, underlining growing acceptance in the family-oriented EV scooter space.

Performance scooters and 125cc segment shine

TVS Ntorq recorded 27,179 units, up 81.4% YoY, reflecting sustained demand for sporty scooters. Suzuki Burgman Street posted 23,098 units, growing 13% YoY, while Hero Destini 125 emerged as the fastest-growing scooter in the top 10 with 1.86x YoY growth, selling 23,044 units. Honda Dio also saw healthy momentum with 18,609 units, growing 31.4% YoY.
