Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India (HMSI) has been ruling the country’s scooter segment with its ever-popular Activa. It is a family-format scooter which has been bagging consistent sales and volumes for the brand. Dio is also a popular offering and to further boost its appeal, HMSI has just unveiled a special X-Edition of Activa 125. Let’s take a closer look.

Dio is Honda’s second best-selling scooter in India and it appeals to young buyers with its sporty format design. Honda offers Dio in both 110cc and 125cc engine options, with 125cc version positioned at a premium. The company is offering a special edition of the larger Dio 125, which was just revealed.

It is called Honda Dio 125 X-Edition and the prices of this special edition are not revealed by Honda yet. Honda Dio 125 X-Edition is based on the top-spec H-Smart variant which gets all the bells and whistles. X-Edition only packs cosmetic changes with an all-new colourway to further amplify its youthfulness.

The colourway is called Pearl Siren Blue and Pearl Deep Ground Gray, which looks rather interesting. The base colour is a sort of dark blue and it is contrasted with gray elements on running board, front apron, side body panels and grab rails, among others. It also gets red painted wheels for that perfect contrast along with swanky graphics.

Honda Dio 125 X-Edition is expected to be priced closely to H-Smart variant on which it is based, which costs Rs 91,683 (Ex-sh). Other colours offered with Dio 125 H-Smart variant are Pearl Deep Ground Gray (Emblem) and Mat Marvel Blue Metallic with gold painted wheels along with Imperial Red, Pearl Deep Ground Gray (Stripe), Pearl Sports Yellow and Pearl Igneous Black, all with Black wheels.

Features, Specs

Where features are concerned, Honda Dio 125 X-Edition gets all the features and equipment as H-Smart variant as it is based on this variant. The most notable features include alloy wheels, front disc brake, LED lighting, a fully-digital TFT instrument cluster, Bluetooth and turn-by-turn navigation, connected features, a smart key that keyless go function, USB Type-C port and others.

Powering the Honda Dio 125 X-Edition is the same 123.92cc single-cylinder air-cooled SOHC 2V/cyl engine that is capable of delivering around 8.2 bhp of peak power and 10.5 Nm of peak torque, mated to a CVT gearbox. Launch is likely to be in the coming days or weeks.
