India’s electric two-wheeler market continued its strong growth momentum in June 2026, with retail sales nearing the 2 lakh-unit mark. According to the latest FADA retail registration data, 1,93,735 electric two-wheelers were retailed during the month, registering an impressive 74.98% year-on-year (YoY) growth over 1,10,719 units sold in June 2025. Compared to 1,70,733 units in May 2026, the segment also recorded a healthy 13.47% month-on-month (MoM) growth.

TVS Motor retained its leadership position in the electric two-wheeler segment with 47,064 retail sales, accounting for 24.29% market share. The company registered 76.05% YoY growth while also improving 10.85% over May 2026, strengthening its lead over rivals. Bajaj Auto continued in second place with 43,306 units, capturing 22.35% market share. The company posted 80.54% YoY growth and 10.47% MoM growth, driven by the continued strong performance of the Chetak range.

Ather Energy remained the third-largest electric two-wheeler brand with 31,230 units, registering 95% YoY growth and 10.59% MoM growth. Hero Vida secured fourth position with 21,820 units, recording one of the strongest performances among established manufacturers. The company nearly tripled its retail sales, posting 175.51% YoY growth while increasing 14.44% over May.

Ola Electric retailed 16,150 units during June 2026. Although sales improved 6.66% over May, they declined 21.97% compared to June last year, making Ola the only major electric two-wheeler manufacturer to report a year-on-year decline during the month. Greaves Ampere continued its recovery with 10,930 units, registering 153.60% YoY growth and a significant 42.04% MoM increase. River EV maintained its rapid expansion trajectory with 4,399 units, posting an impressive 214.44% YoY growth, while Bgauss almost doubled its volumes to 3,917 units, up 98.33% YoY.

On a month-on-month basis, the industry added more than 23,000 additional retail registrations compared to May. Nearly every major manufacturer recorded positive monthly growth, indicating sustained consumer demand across the electric scooter segment. TVS, Bajaj and Ather all registered double-digit monthly growth, while Hero Vida, Greaves Ampere, River EV and Bgauss also continued to expand their volumes.

CY Q2 2026 Performance

The April-June 2026 quarter also reflected robust growth for the electric two-wheeler industry. Total retail sales reached 5,13,208 units, compared to 3,08,153 units during CY Q2 2025, translating to 66.54% YoY growth. TVS maintained its leadership for the quarter with 1,27,206 units, followed by Bajaj Auto with 1,15,406 units. Ather Energy retained third position with 86,504 units, while Hero Vida strengthened its presence with 56,125 units, registering a massive 161.59% YoY growth.

Ola Electric remained among the top five manufacturers with 43,462 units, but was the only major player to witness a quarterly decline, with retail sales down 26.94% YoY. Greaves Ampere crossed 25,000 units during the quarter, while River EV continued to emerge as one of the fastest-growing EV brands, registering 245.80% YoY growth. Bgauss also more than doubled its quarterly sales with 135.24% YoY growth.

The June and Q2 2026 retail figures highlight the continued expansion of India’s electric two-wheeler market. While TVS and Bajaj have consolidated their positions at the top, brands such as Ather, Hero Vida, Greaves Ampere and River EV continue to gain momentum. At the same time, Ola Electric remains under pressure despite showing sequential improvement, making the competitive landscape increasingly dynamic as the market heads into the second half of 2026.
