India’s 150cc to 200cc motorcycle segment registered strong YoY growth in July 2026, although sales were marginally lower on a month-on-month basis. Combined sales of the motorcycles in this list stood at 1,75,865 units, compared to 1,40,331 units in July 2025. This resulted in YoY growth of 25.32%, with an additional 35,534 motorcycles sold.
Compared to June 2026 sales of 1,77,866 units, however, the segment declined by 1.13% MoM. TVS Apache continued to dominate this space, while Honda Unicorn and Bajaj Pulsar occupied the next two positions. You can also take a look a the 350cc to 450cc segment motorcycle sales here.
150cc To 200cc Motorcycle Sales July 2026
TVS Apache was comfortably the highest-selling name in the segment with 59,404 units sold in July 2026. Sales increased by a substantial 58.13% YoY from 37,566 units, adding 21,838 units. Honda Unicorn took second place with 35,007 units. It registered 14.51% YoY growth, although MoM numbers fell by 6.94%. Bajaj Pulsar slipped to 3rd spot with 31,405 units, down 4.80% YoY and 22.89% MoM. Together, Apache, Unicorn and Pulsar accounted for more than 1.25 lakh units, demonstrating how concentrated sales remain at the top of this segment.
Yamaha had four motorcycles among the top seven. R15 recorded 10,505 units, up 58.61% YoY and 13.43% MoM. It was followed closely by Yamaha MT-15 with 10,347 units, registering 21.53% YoY and 2.51% MoM growth. Yamaha FZ recorded 9,912 units, representing a 10.78% YoY decline, although sales remained almost flat MoM with 0.90% growth. New Yamaha XSR recorded 5,032 units in July, improving 19.84% over 4,199 units sold in June. Interestingly, Yamaha has now launched YZF-R2 in India at a starting price of Rs 2.30 lakh.
Xpulse, SP160 Post Strong Growth
Hero Xpulse 200 recorded a particularly strong month with 4,649 units, up 15.56% YoY and an impressive 57.22% MoM. Honda SP160 performed even better in percentage terms, with its 3,731 units translating into 67.01% YoY and 64.29% MoM growth. KTM 160 / 200 combined sales stood at 2,945 units. While this represented strong 81.90% YoY growth, sales declined 11.30% compared to June 2026.
Suzuki Gixxer registered 1,225 units, up 14.49% YoY and 68.73% MoM. Honda Hornet 2.0 followed with 889 units. Hornet recorded the highest MoM percentage growth among models with sales in both months at 117.89%, although this came from a relatively low base of 408 units.
At the lower end of the list, Hero Xtreme 160 registered 498 units, declining 68.82% YoY and 44.67% MoM. Honda CB200X recorded 316 units, down 33.61% YoY but up 78.53% MoM. Bajaj Avenger and Kawasaki W175 recorded zero sales during July 2026 in this dataset. Both had also recorded zero units in June, while their July 2025 numbers stood at 1,117 units and 39 units, respectively.
OEM-Wise Analysis
At the OEM level, TVS was the clear leader in the 150cc-200cc segment with 59,404 units sold in July 2026, commanding a 33.78% share. Sales increased by an impressive 58.13% YoY, driven entirely by the Apache range. Honda was the second-largest OEM with 39,943 units and a 22.71% share, registering 17.26% YoY growth.
Yamaha followed with 35,796 units, recording strong 36.38% YoY growth and securing a 20.35% share. Yamaha could see a further boost in the coming months, as the new YZF-R2 has been launched in India today. Overall, sales across the segment grew 25.32% YoY to 1,75,865 units.
